Up the west coast




At first sight Franz Josef Glacier looks so small beside those peaks.



It's pretty large from this angle though!






This was a photo of a rather faded notice board showing where the ice flow reached in various years from the 1800s. Hopefully you can click on this to see it larger. It seems that the ice receded in the 1960s and 70s but advanced again. You can compare my photo with the poster!


The weather was beginning to improve and I've even taken my jacket off!


This section seems to have taken me days to do!
I think I'll just post this now, and continue the next section soon!
